Allegations of significant irregularities have emerged in a ₹1.12 crore electrical infrastructure project intended to provide a dedicated 33 KV feeder supply to LNMIIT College in the Agra Road area under Jaipur South Circle.
The Electricity Consumers Association, Jaipur, has submitted a detailed complaint to the Energy Secretary and Chairman of DISCOMs, demanding a high-level independent technical investigation and strict action against those responsible.
The association claims that major deviations from approved estimates, safety standards, and technical specifications were observed during on-site inspections.
Key Allegations (as per the association)
Approximately 1700 meters of GI pipes (valued at around ₹12 lakh) allegedly not installed
Feeder line reportedly reduced from the sanctioned 16 km to around 12 km
Cable laid at insufficient depth in several locations
Trenches filled with loose and un-compacted soil
Cable joints reportedly exposed in front of residential colonies
Towers allegedly installed with weak or inadequate foundations and reduced height
Single-circuit arrangement used at multiple road and highway crossings, reducing backup reliability
Questions Raised
The association has questioned how such alleged irregularities escaped official inspection and supervision. It has also asked whether field inspections were conducted properly, and if so, why deficiencies were ignored. If not, responsibility for oversight failures has been demanded.

Quote from Memorandum
“The Energy Secretary is trying to stitch together the torn fabric of DISCOM operations stitch by stitch, while some engineers are tearing it apart yard by yard through their actions.”
