Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Seychelles on a three-day official visit and was accorded a grand ceremonial reception at Seychelles International Airport. He was welcomed by senior government officials, including representatives of the Seychelles administration, along with cultural performances showcasing the island nation's rich heritage.
The visit is expected to reinforce the longstanding friendship between India and Seychelles. Discussions between the two countries will focus on strengthening cooperation in maritime security, the blue economy, renewable energy, healthcare, digital connectivity, and capacity building.
During the visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with the leadership of Seychelles, review ongoing development projects supported by India, and explore new opportunities for partnership in the Indian Ocean region.
India and Seychelles have maintained close diplomatic relations over the years, with cooperation extending to defence, infrastructure development, education, and disaster management. The visit is seen as another step toward deepening strategic ties and promoting regional stability.
Government officials from both nations expressed optimism that the meetings would further strengthen mutual trust and open new avenues for collaboration.
