New Delhi: The Monsoon Session of Parliament witnessed another day of intense political confrontation as MPs from the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition INDIA bloc came face-to-face at Makar Dwar inside the Parliament complex.
Opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several INDIA bloc MPs, staged a demonstration demanding accountability over the alleged examination paper leak controversy and action on recent protests involving students. Simultaneously, NDA MPs organized a counter-protest, accusing the Opposition of disrupting Parliament and politicising the issue.
Security personnel formed a human chain to separate the two groups as slogans echoed across the Parliament complex. Despite efforts to maintain order, the confrontation reflected the increasingly confrontational atmosphere surrounding the Monsoon Session.
Inside Parliament, continuous protests disrupted Question Hour, forcing repeated adjournments in both Houses until 2 p.m. Opposition members insisted on an immediate discussion on the examination paper leak issue, while the government urged members to allow normal legislative business to continue.
The political deadlock follows days of nationwide protests by students and growing demands for accountability over examination irregularities, making education reforms one of the central issues dominating the current Parliament session.
