Bengaluru: Infosys delivered a strong start to the 2026–27 financial year, reporting a 12% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit for the April–June quarter, reflecting resilient demand for digital transformation services despite global economic uncertainty.
The company posted a net profit of ₹7,769 crore, up from ₹6,921 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenue from operations also recorded healthy growth, rising 14% to ₹48,211 crore, compared with ₹42,279 crore a year earlier.
Alongside its earnings announcement, Infosys unveiled a significant leadership transition. The Board of Directors has appointed Ashiss Kumar Dash as the company's next Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, subject to shareholder approval. Dash will assume office on April 1, 2027, succeeding Salil Parekh, whose second term concludes the same month after more than nine years at the helm.
A veteran with over three decades at Infosys, Dash currently oversees several global business verticals and leads the company's sustainability initiatives. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions spanning customer engagement, global delivery, technology, and operational management.
The company said Dash's extensive experience in business strategy and technology positions him well to guide Infosys through the next phase of artificial intelligence-driven transformation, an area expected to reshape enterprise technology services over the coming years.
Despite the positive financial results and leadership announcement, Infosys shares closed 0.45% lower at ₹1,047.40 on the National Stock Exchange. The stock has remained under pressure in recent months, reflecting broader market concerns over global IT spending and sector-wide valuation adjustments.
Industry analysts believe the strong quarterly performance demonstrates Infosys' operational resilience while the early succession announcement provides investors with leadership continuity during a period of rapid technological change.
