In one of the most significant administrative reshuffles of the year, the Rajasthan government has transferred 18 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including senior police leadership, range Inspector Generals, and district Superintendents of Police, in a move aimed at strengthening law enforcement and improving administrative efficiency across the state.

The state government announced a major transfer of 18 IPS officers in a late-night administrative reshuffle.

The late-night orders issued by the state's Department of Personnel include changes at the highest levels of the police hierarchy. The reshuffle affects the leadership of Jodhpur Police Commissionerate, two police ranges, and four districts, reflecting the government's continuing effort to streamline policing and governance.

A major highlight of the transfer list is the appointment of Anshuman Bhomia as the new Police Commissioner of Jodhpur, replacing Sharat Kaviraj, who has been posted as Inspector General, Crime Branch. The change comes as Jodhpur continues to face growing urban policing challenges.

Another key appointment is Dr. Priti Chandra, who has been named the new Inspector General of Bharatpur Range, marking her first field assignment after promotion to the IG rank. Dr. Ravi has been posted as Inspector General, Ajmer Range, while Kailash Chandra Bishnoi has been shifted to Police Modernization and Welfare.

At the Director General level, Anil Paliwal has been appointed Director General and Commandant General, Home Guards, while Malini Agrawal takes charge as Director General, Traffic Police.

The reshuffle also includes transfers of four district police chiefs. Rajesh Kumar Kanwat becomes Superintendent of Police, Balotra; B. Aditya takes charge in Hanumangarh; Pankaj Yadav has been posted as SP, Jodhpur Rural; and Vishal Jangid becomes SP, Pratapgarh. Several Deputy Commissioners of Police, Additional Commissioners, and RAC Commandants have also been reassigned.

Officials say the transfers are intended to enhance operational effectiveness, improve coordination, and strengthen policing across Rajasthan amid evolving law-and-order priorities. Administrative reshuffles of this scale are typically carried out to align experienced officers with key operational responsibilities and improve governance.

The latest changes are expected to influence policing strategies in several sensitive districts while reinforcing the state's focus on public safety, crime control, modernization, and administrative accountability.
