RIICO Officials Caught in Dual ACB Bribery Sting in Rajasthan

The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out simultaneous trap operations on Friday, arresting two officials of the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) on bribery charges.

According to investigators, a complainant approached the ACB after allegedly being asked to pay illegal gratification to secure the lease deed and official approvals for an industrial plot in the Sathana Industrial Area. Following verification of the complaint, ACB teams organized coordinated raids.

Senior Officer Arrested Before Retirement

The primary arrest took place at RIICO's Vaishali Nagar Regional Office in Ajmer, where Senior Deputy General Manager Anjay Vishwakarma was allegedly caught accepting ₹50,000 from the complainant.

Officials said the accused allegedly demanded the payment in exchange for issuing the plot lease deed and granting permission to begin industrial production. The arrest has drawn attention because Vishwakarma was reportedly only 21 days away from retirement.

Junior Assistant Also Trapped in Beawar

In a related operation, ACB officers arrested Kamlesh Gurjar, a Junior Assistant posted at the RIICO office in Beawar. He was allegedly caught accepting ₹35,000 linked to the disposal of documentation concerning the same industrial plot.

Investigators stated that the complainant chose to report the alleged demand instead of paying the bribe, enabling authorities to conduct the successful trap.

Searches Continue

Following the arrests, ACB teams began searches at the residences and other premises associated with both accused officials. Documents, electronic records, and other evidence are being examined as investigators seek to determine whether additional irregularities or wider corruption networks are involved.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and further legal action will depend on the evidence collected.
