Days after the Rajasthan government rolled back its transfer freeze, administrative controls at the Secretariat have been recalibrated with a sharper focus on security and regulated access.
The Personnel Department has issued fresh directives restricting public movement inside the Secretariat complex, reinforcing it as a high-security administrative zone.
Under the revised rules, public entry—including holders of temporary passes—will be disallowed during holidays and outside official working hours. Visitors seeking access during non-working days must now obtain prior confirmation from the concerned department, routed through the reception desk.
Officials say the move is intended to reduce unnecessary crowding and streamline official access protocols.
A strict enforcement of the existing no-photography policy has also been reiterated. Any unauthorized photography or videography inside the Secretariat will now be treated as a punishable offence, potentially leading to legal action.
Personnel Department Secretary Archana Singh has issued formal instructions mandating compliance, including identity card display for all officers and employees during working hours.
Authorities describe the tightened rules as part of an effort to improve discipline, security, and administrative efficiency within the state’s core governance hub.
