Jaipur: In a significant breakthrough in Rajasthan's ongoing investigation into recruitment examination scams, the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested alleged paper leak accused Vinod Kumar Raivad, a school operator who had been evading authorities after securing bail in earlier cases.
According to officials, the accused was apprehended from the Chomu area near Jaipur following a targeted operation led by an SOG team after receiving intelligence about his whereabouts. Authorities said Raivad had previously been arrested in three separate cases but allegedly disappeared after obtaining bail. He was wanted in several additional paper leak and examination malpractice investigations.
Agriculture paper leak under investigation
Investigators have formally arrested Raivad in connection with the Agriculture examination paper leak case. Officials believe his interrogation may provide crucial evidence regarding the wider network involved in recruitment examination fraud across Rajasthan.
Raivad had earlier been arrested by the SOG from Nayagarh in Odisha after a prolonged search, during which a reward had reportedly been announced for information leading to his capture.
Allegations of papers sold for ₹25 lakh
The investigation is also linked to the School Lecturer Recruitment Examination 2022 paper leak case registered in April 2025. According to investigators, solved photocopies of the Economics examination paper were allegedly supplied to candidates approximately two hours before the examination.
Officials allege that members of the network charged ₹25 lakh per candidate for access to the leaked examination paper. Earlier investigations led to the arrest of another accused, who allegedly admitted arranging the paper for a family member through the syndicate.
Authorities suspect Raivad played an important role in connecting members of the alleged paper leak network.
More arrests possible
Rajasthan SOG officials stated that Raivad is being questioned extensively and that fresh leads emerging from the interrogation could result in additional arrests in multiple pending paper leak investigations.
The paper leak scandals have affected several recruitment examinations in Rajasthan over recent years, prompting widespread public concern over transparency and fairness in government hiring. The latest arrest is being viewed by investigators as an important development in dismantling the alleged network.
