ALWAR, Rajasthan — Union Minister Nitin Gadkari visited the modern rest area at Pinan on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway on Wednesday to personally assess the progress of one of India's largest highway projects. He was welcomed by Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and local officials before leading a comprehensive review of the project.

During the visit, officials from the National Highways Authority of India delivered a detailed presentation outlining the expressway's construction status, traffic management plans, and future expansion. Gadkari reviewed the plans carefully and directed officials to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
A major focus of the meeting was road safety. The minister instructed authorities to strengthen emergency medical response systems, identify and eliminate accident-prone black spots, and address engineering deficiencies that could contribute to crashes. Officials also discussed strategies to ensure rapid assistance for injured motorists.
Senior district officials, including Alwar District Collector Dr. Artika Shukla and Superintendent of Police Sudhir Choudhary, briefed the minister on local security, logistics, and administrative preparations supporting the project.
Beyond improving travel speed and comfort, the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is expected to significantly boost industrial growth, lower logistics costs, attract investment, and generate employment across Rajasthan and neighboring regions.
