The Government of India has announced that the Monsoon Session of Parliament will be held from July 20 through August 13, 2026, after receiving formal approval from President Droupadi Murmu. The announcement was made by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju.

The session will be the first parliamentary sitting following recent state assembly elections and is expected to address a broad legislative agenda covering constitutional reforms, judicial administration, education, economic policy, and electoral matters.

Among the proposals expected to receive attention are constitutional amendment bills concerning ministerial disqualification in specified circumstances and possible changes related to women's political representation and parliamentary delimitation. Reports have also indicated that discussions could include broader parliamentary reforms, although the exact text and status of any proposed legislation will depend on bills formally introduced during the session.

Other measures expected to be considered include legislation related to foreign funding regulations, anti-doping policy, judicial capacity, labor regulations, corporate law, and securities market reforms. The government may also seek to advance discussions on the proposed "One Nation, One Election" initiative.

As with every parliamentary session, bills must proceed through the constitutional legislative process—including debate and voting in Parliament, and where applicable, presidential assent—before becoming law.
