Jaipur, June 25, 2026: Rajasthan's capital is preparing for a significant transformation in its transportation network as the state government moves forward with plans to construct a 36-kilometer-long, six-lane elevated road along the Dravyavati River.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced that work on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) will begin in the first week of July. According to officials, the tendering process has been completed, and a work order is expected to be issued shortly. The DPR preparation alone will cost approximately ₹5.5 crore.

The proposed corridor will extend from Majar Dam to beyond Goner on the Ring Road, following the river's flow area. Designed using single-pillar technology, the elevated roadway is expected to become one of Jaipur's largest urban infrastructure projects.

₹6,000-Crore Project to Improve City Connectivity

The elevated corridor is estimated to cost around ₹6,000 crore and will connect key traffic routes, including Sikar Road, Ajmer Road, and Tonk Road. Once completed, commuters will be able to travel across different parts of the city without relying on congested intersections and major surface roads.

Officials believe the project will significantly reduce traffic pressure and improve mobility for residents and visitors alike.

Major Development Push for Sanganer

The announcement came during a large-scale development program in Sanganer, which is preparing to celebrate its historic 500th anniversary next year. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 1,531 development works worth ₹631 crore in the constituency.

As part of heritage conservation efforts, the government has launched restoration and beautification projects for 115 religious sites, including the renowned Sanghi Ji Jain Temple and Sanga Baba Temple. Approximately ₹50 crore will be spent on these initiatives.

Additional Infrastructure Projects Announced

Several other development projects were also unveiled, including:

A ₹124-crore flyover at Muhana Mode Junction on the Jaipur–Bhilwara Road.

An ₹88-crore sewage treatment plant (STP) in Bambala.

A new satellite hospital in Prithviraj Nagar.

A trauma center in Bhankrota.

Construction and upgrades of roads, sewer lines, parks, community buildings, schools, and healthcare facilities.

The state also introduced advanced sanitation equipment, including five modern mechanical litter-picker machines, the first of their kind in Jaipur, designed to clean footpaths, narrow lanes, and hard-to-reach urban spaces efficiently.

Looking Ahead

With the proposed elevated road and a series of urban development initiatives, Jaipur is positioning itself for improved infrastructure, smoother transportation, and enhanced civic amenities. If executed as planned, the Dravyavati River Elevated Corridor could become a landmark project reshaping the city's traffic landscape for decades to come.
